Definition:

Oculoplastics deals with Eye Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, a specialised area that focuses on the eye lid and the structure surrounding the eye including problems of the lacrimal (tear)system and the orbit, the region surrounding the eyebrow.

The common symptoms include drooping of eyelids, inward turning and outward turning of the lid margin, swelling in the eyelids.

Following diseases may require intervention by Oculoplasty Department: Congenital anomalies of the lids, Drooping of the lids, Thyroid Eye Disease, Fractures of the orbit, Eyelid burns and Lacrimal Surgeries.
